The Wellness is at the Forefront of Change

Back in 1991 a New England Journal of Medicine article on the deteriorating efficiency of our healthcare system was published.  In this article - they berated the point that 11.5% rise per year in costs was too much.  So this year Bloomberg publishes a piece stating that a$1.2 trillion healthcare system MAY be sustainable.  In my opinion - NOT.  Read the article - and leave a comment.

A recent report in Bloomberg (see the links below) states that it may be OK if healthcare costs continue to rise (now past $4.3 trillion dollars per year) and that the events over the past two years did nothing to change the vision of the CEOs of the nation’s largest hospitals and health plans.  If they are going to continue to spend money like drunken sailors and continue to have below average health care services, then the health and wellness community will step up and deliver quality outcomes-based services at a fraction of the cost and reduce the health care spending in the process.
